Privacy and data
Guzembly is a Mac app that runs on your computer. There is no Guzembly account and no Guzembly server that stores your data.
The short version: your music, your Planning Center token, and your finished sets stay on your Mac. Guzembly does not have a server that collects them, and it does not track how you use the app.
If you connect a Planning Center account, your App ID and Secret (a Personal Access Token) are stored only on your Mac, in a private file at ~/Library/Application Support/Guzembly/secrets.json that only your user account can read.
When you load service plans, Guzembly sends those credentials directly to Planning Center (api.planningcenteronline.com) to fetch your plans and songs. The credentials never pass through any Guzembly server, and Guzembly does not store, share, or transmit them anywhere else. Planning Center is optional: you can use Custom Set to pick songs by hand and never connect an account.
Your song stems, your Ableton template, and the sets Guzembly builds are read and written on your Mac only. They are never uploaded anywhere. Guzembly does not use any cloud service to process your audio.
If you enter your email on the download page to get update notifications, that email is stored with Cloudflare (the service hosting this site) and is used only to email you about Guzembly updates. It is not sold, shared, or used for anything else. You can ask to be removed at any time.
The "Send Feedback" and "Report a problem" links open a form hosted by Tally (a third-party form service). Anything you type or attach there goes to Tally so it can reach me. See Tally's privacy policy for how they handle it. Using the form is optional.
Guzembly writes activity logs on your Mac at ~/Library/Logs/Guzembly/ to help troubleshoot. They stay on your computer and are never sent anywhere unless you choose to share one with me. Logs may include song and plan titles and file paths, but they never contain your Planning Center token or password.
When you download Guzembly, the download link counts the download and records a coarse, anonymous tally: an approximate region (US state or country) and which operating system your browser reports. No IP addresses, names, cookies, or identifying information are stored, and downloads are never tied to a person.
The Guzembly app itself contains no analytics, no telemetry, and no usage tracking. It does not report what songs you build, what you download, or how you use it.
Reach me through the feedback form linked in the app and on the download page, or email [email protected].
